HDY pledge to support victims of domestic abuse

8th March 2022

Here at HDY Agency, Ed, Bea and I strive to create an inclusive and diverse workplace where our team is able to feel safe, heard and supported. With a number of strong female leaders at the helm of our business, I have always been passionate about supporting women from all walks of life, including victims and survivors of domestic abuse. That’s why we have partnered with the Employers Domestic Abuse Covenant (EDAC).

As part of this alliance, HDY Agency has pledged to:

  • Raise awareness of domestic abuse within the workplace and encourage meaningful conversations
  • Create inclusive workplace opportunities for victims and survivors of domestic abuse
  • Enhance recruitment practices as an inclusive employer of choice
  • Act as a champion to break the taboo’s surrounding victims and survivors of domestic abuse.

Economic abuse can have a devastating effect on a woman and her family. Diminishing the victim’s capacity to support themselves and forcing them to depend on their abuser financially. By joining forces with EDAC, we’ll work towards putting an end to financial and economic abuse. Together, we hope to support women affected by abuse to enter or re-enter the workplace.

I’m very pleased to support the Employers Domestic Abuse Covenant. The figures surrounding domestic abuse are unsettling and as a female leader, I am more than happy to do what I can to help support people who have fallen victim to this crime.

Helping women get back into employment and training could be that first step that helps them rebuild their confidence and reclaim their life. If HDY Agency could be a stepping stone in that process, I would feel as if I am doing my part.
