Originally launched as our Step into Christmas charity campaign, we extended the challenge into January to become Step into the New Year so we could raise even more cash for those who need it most.
It was a full team effort with everyone deciding to swap client gifts, festive lunches and a big (albeit virtual) Christmas party this year with something a little more personal.
It has been such a difficult 12 months for so many people. That focusing our efforts into fundraising to give to charity was the best way to send off 2020 and ring in the new year. Ranking up a combined total of 1,350 miles, our team certainly started 2021 on the right foot!
Angel Gaskell, HDY co-founder, said: “It’s been great to see our team braving the cold and, often, rainy weather to give back to our local communities. The campaign was an entire team decision to give back.
“We felt that it was our duty to give as much as we could to the amazing charities. As well as making sure our team were taking some time out of the working day. Especially during the third lockdown, for themselves to get outside and active.”
